What can I use Video Tradie for?

You can use Video Tradie for a variety of trade categories. We’re working towards 35 and adding more on a regular basis. You can get direction for your DIY project or seek advice on your current situation. Download our app (Coming Soon) to see which trades are online.

How do I sign up?

Simply download ‘Video Tradie – I need a Tradie’ on the Apple Store or Google Play (Coming Soon) and follow the in-app prompts.

How do I reset my password?

Go into the app and select “Log In” then “Forgot my Password” and follow the prompts to reset your password via email.

I need a tax invoice, how do I download one?

Go into the app and select “History” and then click “Read More” on the job you require the tax invoice for and select “Send Email” to email yourself a copy.

How do I update my payment methods?

Go into the app and select “Payment Method”, you can then edit your payment options. You can add more than one payment method here too, if you wish to use Video Tradie for work and/or personal job requests.

Can I use Video Tradie for work and/or personal jobs? (Choosing different payment methods each time)?

Yes, you can use Video Tradie for both work and/or personal jobs and choose from multiple payment methods when you create a job ticket.

Will there always be Tradies available?

We aim to be as responsive as possible, and our Tradies are dedicated to ensuring they can help you when you need them. As we grow and add more quality Tradies, we’re aiming for an average wait time of approximately 10 minutes, and we hope to achieve this on a more consistent basis.

How long does the call take?

This depends on how complex your topic is and how much information you need about it. Most of our calls take equal to or less than 10 minutes. Our second most used category is equal to or less than 20 minutes.

Will I be speaking to an actual Tradesperson?

Yes! Our Tradies are a mix of those who have recently retired or younger ones working after hours. They are selected based on their qualifications, skills and problem solving skills, and verified to ensure you’re provided with the best advice possible. Our top rated Tradies are forwarded to you first.

What if the problem cannot be fixed?

We always strive to provide great value and we hope that we can help you solve your own scenario or educate you about your topic. However, sometimes you might need to engage a local Tradie to come to your site and provide a physical solution. For example if your job requires a licensed professional to safely complete it for you, your Video Tradie will advise you of this.

Do I get a refund if we don’t fix the problem?

We always strive to provide great value and we hope that we can help you solve your own scenario or educate you about your topic and, for that reason, each call is chargeable.

How do I search for a Trade?

Go into the app and from the home screen select on your desired trade category or select “More” and start typing your desired trade category into the search bar. If the trade category you’re after isn’t there yet, it might not be far away. We’re always expanding our trade categories. Please check back soon.

How do I lodge a job for help?

Select on your desired trade category and then complete the form inputting your topic, scenario and any photos or documents that might be applicable or helpful to the Tradie. You’ll receive a notification when a Tradie is online and are about to call you.

Are there any additional resources in the app that I can learn from?

Each week Video Tradie will choose a tip of the week as voted in by our Tradie’s and we will publish it within the app, you will be notified and can read the story in the app under the “Weekly Tip” section.

What is the cost for Tradies?

The cost is dependent on how long the video call takes.

How do I register?

Download ‘Video Tradie – I am a Tradie’ on the Apple Store or Google Play (Coming Soon) and follow the in-app prompts.

I don’t have an ABN, what do I do?

Follow this link and complete the process on the Australian Government website. If you do not wish to obtain and provide us with an ABN, then we will deduct 50% tax from you of which you will receive a credit when you complete your next tax return.

I don’t have a licence for my industry, can I still apply?

If your industry is licenced but you do not hold a valid licence then you can complete the sign-up process in-app and select “Don’t have a Licence?” and complete the form including your trade category, years of experience, and reason for not having a licence (e.g. if you’re retired). This will then submit to support@videotradie.com.au for review and consideration. We will then contact you with the outcome of your enquiry.

I can do more than one thing, is that ok?

Yes, that’s awesome! Well done on your professional development. Please select as many trade categories as you are licenced for or trained in.

My trade isn’t listed, what do I do?

We’re continually expanding our trade categories. Sorry your trade isn’t available yet. Please send us an email and we will make sure that it is under review. Send your email to support@videotradie.com.au.

How do I get paid by a customer?

For each call completed you will earn money. These funds are paid by the customer to Video Tradie as your agent. You will then receive payment on a weekly basis from Video Tradie. You can check the amount you will be paid by clicking “Account” and then going into your “Wallet” and viewing your “Amount Owing”.

What rates do I get paid?

You will get paid depending on how long the video call takes.

How do I change my banking details?

Go into the app and select “Account” and “Wallet” then choose “Bank Details” and then enter your bank details and once they’re correct, select “Update” to save them.

How do I access a financial year summary for my Accountant?

Go into the app and select “Account” and “Wallet” then “Tax Invoice” and then scroll to the bottom and select “Financial Year Summary”. You can email this to yourself and forward it to your bookkeeper or accountant.

How much tax will I have to pay

You pay tax on your Video Tradie earnings at the same rate as your wages or other income. The tax rate for most of our tradies will be 32.5% (based on total income for the year between $45,000 and $120,000).

Other rates are nothing up to $18,200, 19% from $18,201 to $45,000, and 37% from $120,001 to $180,000.

You will receive 100% of your Video Tradie income each week and then you will pay your tax at the end of each year when you lodge your tax return.

Can I watch induction videos any time?

Yes, go into the app and select “Code of Conduct” and click on a video link to re-watch it.

How do I accept a job from a customer?

Accept the push notification or go into the app and select the “Accept” button next to each new job request. Follow the in-app prompts.

How do I enter for the Tip of the Week bonus?

You have the chance to earn an additional $20.00 for each Tip of the Week idea that we use. Provide us with your best tip for each trade category by going into the app and selecting “Tips” and then hit the big orange “+” button and enter your tip, and then hit send. If we use it, we’ll let you know!
